The ugly Truth
Some love stories don’t end with a fairytale. They end with lessons, scars, prayers, and strength you didn’t know you had.
This is a raw and unfiltered memoir about loving the wrong men, staying too long, ignoring red flags, and finally choosing yourself. This isn’t a sugarcoated relationship guide. It’s a real-life journey through toxic love, heartbreak, faith, grief, and growth told with honesty, humor, and zero apologies. This book will feel uncomfortably familiar in the best way.
Read it. Learn from it. Don’t repeat it.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Esther E . Laurenceau
Esther E. Laurenceau is a Brooklyn-born writer who believes honesty heals faster than silence. Raised in New York, shaped by family, faith, loss, and lived experience, she writes the way real life feels. She is a college graduate, entrepreneur at heart, and a woman who has lived through love that hurt, lessons that stuck, and growth that wasn’t optional. Her writing comes from experience, not theory. She doesn’t pretend to have it all figured out. She tells the truth about what it took to figure herself out.
This is her first book, written for women who are tired of pretending they’re fine while repeating the same patterns. Esther writes to remind women that they are not broken, they’re just learning. Her message is simple, “Healing starts when you stop lying to yourself.”

ABOUT THE BOOK
The ugly Truth
The Ugly Truth is a deeply personal memoir that walks readers through a series of relationships marked by passion, betrayal, emotional manipulation, and missed warning signs. Through real stories and real mistakes, the author explores toxic relationships and emotional dependency, dating men who are unavailable, dishonest, or unsafe, the cost of ignoring intuition, how grief and trauma affect love choices and the role faith plays when everything else falls apart.
Each chapter focuses on a different man, a different lesson, and a different version of the author slowly building toward self-awareness and emotional freedom. This book doesn’t offer dating rules or fairy-tale advice. It offers something better. Truth about why we stay. Why we hope. Why we forgive too much. And why walking away can feel harder than staying. It’s not just a story about love gone wrong. It’s about a woman finding herself again.

FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
Would you recommend this book to someone?
Of course. If you are a woman who has experienced a toxic relationship, always attracts the wrong type of men or does not know how to distinguish real love from fake love then, “The Ugly Truth My Love Life Sucks!”, is for you.
What kind of reader will enjoy this book?
Single women, women in a toxic relationship and lost their identity.
How did the book make you feel? Did it evoke any emotions? Make you laugh, cry or cringe?
I cried a lot while writing, “The Ugly Truth My Love Life Sucks!” Sometimes I took breaks in between chapters because it was overwhelming to write and go through those experiences at the same time. For example, Chapter 7 Cop Caller I was going to court monthly.
Did the book inspire you to take action, change your behavior, or think differently about something?
Definitely. I have learned to spend more time with myself and not give every guy I meet access right away. I have learned to set boundaries and not settle for less. Today, I can distinguish when a guy is full of shit, has no intentions of being with me and only wants me for sex.
Any slip ups I do not hesitate to hit the block button which has now become my favorite feature on my phone.
